President SCS

My name is Jim Klukow. I am the President of the South Carolina Spartans (SCS) Football and Cheer Club. Please let me introduce myself and this great Christian organization.

I am a teaching pastor, consultant, and speaker based in York County with the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, one of the oldest conservative denominations in America. The Board of Directors of the SCS has elected me as its president for a third term. The SCS includes junior varsity and varsity full-contact football teams as well as a cheer squad and a new color guard team. My desire is to lead these teams composed of homeschool, private Christian school, charter school, and public school students, into another successful season.

This is my seventh year with the Spartans organization. I am enthusiastic about its mission to use sports as a way to develop young men and women into solid Christian leaders. We desire to develop their confidence and character in ways that glorify our Lord Jesus Christ.

To reach these goals we have recruited several pastors and Christian parents as coaches, staff, and board members. The leadership team is committed to raising young men and women through sports into morally responsible and community-involved leaders, all the while learning the game of football. Football, Cheer, and Color Guard provide our students with challenges that develop Christian character, biblical morals, and skills to become godly community leaders.

The South Carolina Spartans is a distinctively Christian ministry. We are a not-for-profit 501 (C) (3) outreach to middle and high school student athletes. Our motto comes from 1 Corinthians 16:13, “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” (ESV) Our passion is to mentor your students into courageous and God-honoring lifestyles that emulate Jesus as their Redeemer and Friend. This is accomplished by providing each player with adults who spend time with them, peers that set godly examples, and lots of playing time on the field. No previous experience with sports is required to try out for the teams. And by the way, you can use this commitment to fulfill school physical educational credits too!

Thank you in advance for your prayerful support and for allowing the SCS club to provide your middle school and high school students with an unforgettable experience of playing competitive sports in a Christ-centered environment.

Yours in His Grace,

Rev. Dr. Jim Klukow
